Specific Details

Deafness
Henry became deaf and dumb at the age of about 6 months - probably as a result of measles.
1881 Census
In 1881 Henry is shown as a boarder at the St Johns Roman Catholic Institute for the Deaf and Dumb. I have obtained a record from St John's which says he was admitted in 1879 (when he was 5) and discharged in 1888.
