WHRE married twice. In 1867 he married Hannah Varley, who died in 1872. In 1872 he married Sarah Ann Gaunt.
Children of William and Hannah
Annie Hannah Royle Evatt was born in 1867. Ada was born in 1869.
William and his two daughters are living with his mother Matilda in Accommodation Road. William's occupation is as a beerseller. Hannah is Living with her mother and a boarder. Her mother has put her name as Hannah Varley is that just absent mindedness or does it signify anything? And equally puzzling is the fact that Henry Royle Evatt is living on his own at 114 Queen's Place.
Children of William and Sarah
William and Sarah had six children. Agnes died as a baby and the name was given to another daughter who died when she was just 17. The other children were Henry Royle b 1874, Ernest Royle b 1875, Alice Royle b 1878 and Amy Royle b 1880. Henry and Ernest both married and had children. Neither Alice nor Amy married although one of them was the mother of Ada Hey Evatt who was brought up by half sister Ada and her husband Albert Edward Hey
Two of William's daughters had children born out of wedlock. The family seems to have dealt with each case very pragmatically, persuading other female family members to take the children into their own households.
